Uganda’s oil and gas sector has pushed for projects that put Ugandans and the livelihoods of host communities first. This week, UNOC, Government entities and Joint Venture Partners joined Civil Society Organisations and NGOs on a monitoring visit to see progress firsthand.
The delegation engaged stakeholders and assessed initiatives supporting affected communities. Visits like this give CSOs and NGOs the chance to check that commitments to local livelihoods and environmental protection are being met.
